Long Silk Kimono with tassels
This piece is dedicated to Marie Duplesis. She was the inspiration for Marguerite Gautier, the main character of Alexander Dumas fils 1848 novel ‘The Lady of the Camellias’. Much of what is known about her has been derived from the literary persona and contemporary legends. This Kimono was made with pure silk satin fabric and silk chiffon lining. Our artisans spent 36 hours carefully attaching 150 tassels for this piece. It is utterly unique and a perfect choice to wear to the Opera House, Cabaret, dinner party or the couch.
